My alarm went off and I was not a happy camper, 30 min sea bus followed by a 5 hr drive, what a way to start the weekend. But this was not any ordinary weekend, this was Turkish Cup
Ardak Turkey was our destination, and let me tell u, it was nothing like Istanbul. I wondered if the big grey hound bus we took was a foreign object to the locals cause they peeped out of their shops with inquisitive faces, eyes fixed on us.
A bunch of winding roads lead us to our hotel, WOW, was my first reaction, this hotel looked like something out of Thriller ( you all
remember Michael Jackson’s video … And I know some of y’all were scared the 1st time u saw it. LOL … Now u know how I felt when we pulled up ) it was dark inside, and it was filled with statues of all kind … I was convinced when we 1st got there that the statues and paintings would come to life when we all called it a night and were sound asleep in our beds ( this is exactly why I don’t watch scary movies cause my mind wonders and comes up with some crazy stuff. LOL)
3 day tournament, where 3 wins gets you the Cup. Game 1 Friday night against University team started off rough and we found ourselves up by only 1 at the half ( but very thankful cause the way we were playing we should have been down 15. LOL ) But we quickly turned it around jumping out better in the 2nd half and winning by like 20… One down Two to go.
Game 2 we faced Besiktas, a team who is one of our rival teams but just not to the same degree as Galatasary. Once again we found ourselves only up 1 at the half. But like in the 1st game we came out in the 3rd stronger. So with the win we advanced to the finals… And it would only be fitting that we play our rivals Galatasary for the Cup …. This is my 4th season playing here, and we have won the Turkish Cup in all 3 previous yrs, and I was not about to break that streak
. It was a great battle between 2 really good teams. BUT things don’t always workout the way we want and Gala defeated us 57-55
. Congrats to both Catch and Katie who had awesome games. With no Cup in hand we boarded our bus back to Istanbul. The trip back took longer than the trip there. We spent 7 hrs in the confined space, and it was a quiet one for most of it with the exception of the cheers when our football team scored. See they also played Gala today and defeated them. At least one Fener team came out victorious today. Congrats 2 our football team
It was a stressful trip all around but despite a number of challenges we stuck together as a team and fought hard. One team has to win and today we just came up a little short but I’m proud of my girls. Got 2 days off then it’s back to work. Got one last goal before I leave outta here and that is the Turkish Championship.

dear tammy,
don’t get upset please,
you’ll beat them in the playoffs and get the real championship cup.
I couldn’t translate into English but I must write it here:
“canınız sağolsun”
no problem for fenerbahce fans tammy
we love all the girls, we are better team than galatasaray in basketball and football
